The Halliwell Jones Stadium

Halliwell Jones Stadium is the home ground of the Warrington wolves of England. It has hosted five most important England rugby league games; the 2013 rugby league world cup and four other important games, despite being the 62nd largest stadium in England. It’s built on 120 by 74 yards of land.

The Warrington wolves didn’t always have this stadium in their possession, it was only recently constructed. When the previous site the Warrington wolves used became unfit, they discovered this site in 2002, when they searched for a place to relocate to. It didn’t take up to 2 years before the Halliwell Jones Stadium was completed, with everything built to a modern standard; terracing many areas, and also giving it an extremely wide pitch. In 2003 the building of the stadium was completed and in 2004 the stadium was officially opened to all. Paul Cullen the former coach requested the pitch be wide because he loved playing rugby on a vast area. The donor that made the creation of this large and beautiful stadium, has the stadium named after him.

Brian Bevan island, found in the stadium; similar to a roundabout, was created to give tribute to him for playing as a member of the Warrington wolves. In the midst of the roundabout, is a statue of the record breaker, Brian Bevan.

This stadium has housed many home and international games with even future plans to increase the seating capacity to 22,000, with its current highest recorded attendance at 15,008 in 2016.

The Halliwell stadium is not restricted to the activities of the Warrington wolves but far more than that. Despite being used for sporting activities, the stadium is also all-rounder, as it can be hired for private, public and every kind of event because of its classiness and ability to accommodate more people than some other venues. There’re beautiful attractions close by, for you to explore.
